The Alimak Development and
Manufacturing Center

Alimak products are manufactured in a modern and efficient production plant in Skellefteå, Sweden, with some 350 employees. The state-of-the-art production technology includes robot welding, advanced machining centers, laser cutting systems, automatic rack tooth, and cutter, for example. All of the over speed safety devices, the most vital safety component in the Alimak range of products, are tested on a specially designed testing facility prior to delivery from the factory.

Quality, health & safety

The legal entity developing and producing the Alimak range of products
is Alimak Hek AB.

In 1993 Alimak Hek AB received ISO 9001:1994 quality certification and in 2003 ISO 9001:2000 certification. The certification is valid for the following product or service ranges: Design, development, manufacture and service of construction hoists and permanently installed lifts.

Alimak Hek AB has also obtained third party project certification by independent agencies such as Lloyds, DNV and ABS. Additionally, the company has implemented an environmental management system (EMS) in accordance with permits provided by the local authorities. Continuous improvement of the working environment for all employees in terms of safety, ergonomics, technical aids, job satisfaction, air, lighting and noise, is a key activity at the Alimak production facility.

Environmental Policy

Our operations impact on the environment shall be minimized by following applicable environmental legislation, regulations and other requirements, and within the limits of what is technically and financially possible:

• Preventing pollution of the air, water and ground,
• Replacing materials, products and transport methods that are hazardous to the environment with more environmentally tailored alternatives whenever they have equivalent functional and qualitative characteristics,
• Minimizing the raw material consumption through efficient technology and use of material,
• Reusing rest products and recycling waste products,
• Creating environmental commitment among the employees through education, communication and participation,
• Carrying out environmental activities openly and in discourse with our customers, suppliers, authorities and other partners,
• Practise an active environmental work and strive for continual improvements.
